Using up strips of card

Firstly may I say a big welcome to Megan who has joined my band of followers.
Do pop over and say hello to her.

I got out my punches this week as now I have reorganized my
craft room I am determind to make use  of everything.
A couple of those little strips of left over card
can make all the difference.

I could have added pearls to the borders but decided the ones in the flowers were enough.

So I am going to pop this card onto

Pixie's Snippets playground and go and join the fun.

Thanks so much for dropping in and come back soon.

A Wedding in the family

The secret is out Nathan our eldest grandson married his lovely Meagan
in a beautiful outdoor setting with just a small family group present.
The first wedding in our family for over 30 years!
So you can guess how excited I was.
But we had to keep the secret for so long as the wedding took place
on March 19th but their engagement party was not until March 26th.
When they announced they were already married!
So I had had to carry that secret around since before last Christmas.

So now I can show you the cards that I made for them.

The heart doily I have had for years and the roses
are from SB Rose Creation cut from some lovely cream linen card
From Bevs Cross Crafts you will find her HERE.
The ivy and the corners are from Sue Wilson dies.

I quilled and shaped the wedding bells.

The words and the bridal couple are from a set by Beccy Muir and the
small card I made to hold a personal message.
Here is hoping you all had as lovely an  Easter as I did.

Christmas card no.3

A very happy Easter Sunday to you all.
Also a big welcome to Barb my newest follower.

I really need to get a wriggle on or I shall never get all my
cards made in time for Christmas.
This is no.3 no sorry no 4. I clean forgot I posted one last time.

I found this cute little Penny Black image already coloured
and the words were already cut out in a box so very easy to put together.

Challenges.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.

Look who came to breakfast

Autumn sunset over Hobart taken from my back door.

Then look who came for breakfast the next day

We often get 2 to 6 Galahs in the park over our back fence but
this was only about a quarter of the flock that arrived today.
You can tell by the non existent grass we are still without rain.
Don't ask me what they feed on but as they grub around in the soil I would
guess it is roots.
The Magpies here often dive bomb them but they don't even bother to duck.
You could walk past and they wont move.
There is only one thing on their mind " food".

Thought you might like to see this card I have made with a few odds and ends.

The background was a left over piece of SW Bed of Roses EF that
I swooshed with Spun Sugar DI
The pink silver edged satin ribbon was the last on the roll
and when I was looking for something to finish the card what did
I find but a bow in the self same ribbon.
I do have a box full of bows from oddments of ribbon.
Always good for finishing off a progect.
The 3D floral sticker comes from the Dollar shop
I was in the shop this morning and very tempted to buy more.

Challenges.

Here is wishing everyone a Happy Easter.  Enjoy and not too much chocolate.

A Day for Daisies

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long but DH has not
been  well,  I think with a viral infection which
he passed on to both me and our daughter.
But all is forgiven and we are all much better now.
I haven't been idle as
I have also been making a wedding card but more about that a little later
Here is the card I have for you today.

Yes I have been rather naughty and shopped again.
The lovely Sue Wilson daisy cluster die.
I teamed it too with a CP 2 daisy punch.

Entered in

Here is also another card I made using the daisy cluster die

I teamed this one with the Spellbinders Poinsettia

Thanks for dropping in and for all your lovely comments.

My CLEAN craft room

I promised that I would show you some pics once
I got my craft room sorted.
So here goes.
Remember this as it will never look the same again
once I get loose in there.

This desk came from a school that was replacing furniture,
extremely solid and very heavy.

As I like to work standing up this desk came from a cafe that closed down
and it is just right for working on.

One side of the wardrobe that still needs more shelves.

The other side.  Luckily you cannot see my ribbons in
the trays to the right. they need seriously sorting.

And my little cubby hole right outside the door.
We were going to make this into a built in cupboard when we had the
bathroom remodelled but I remodelled the space myself when no one was looking

No I am not going to show you the dinning room table still covered in craft
or let you peek into the wardrobe in the second bedroom
where a lot of things I don't use so much are still hidden.
Now if I could just find some time to craft might be good.
Unfortunately DH is becoming noticably more feeble
and it takes up much of my day visiting him that by the evening
I am too darn tired.

Thanks for dropping in.

My second Christmas card

Greeting to Anne and Darnell and thanks for joining my followers.
My follower numbers goes up and down like a yoyo.
All bloggers fault I think or maybe Google.

I am trying to use up craft supplies that I have instead of buying more
and I found this square card with a cut out panel and shim card
front that I bought way back.
Santa was cut from some 12 x 12, a pine branch  and bauble die,
a few stickers/ peel offs that I am also trying to use up and one easy card
complete.

Challenges.

Must dash I am off to have lunch with DH today, collect his
washing to bring home as I don't trust the homes laundry with it.

Enjoy your day.

Beautiful Blue

I know I have been absent for a while but life here is not easy.
Life keeps throwing me bricks will soon have enough to build a house.
It is very hard to concentrate on anything
And I am so glad to have my cards to play with,
now that I am making birthday cards for the residents at the aged care facility.
Have just delivered the cards for the residents who have March birthdays
to the pastoral carer who is responsible for delivering
them and was asked to make some multi purpose cards suitable
for events that crop up among the staff.
It is now making me think as there are as many male residents and
male members of staff as female so I have to come up with ideas for them too.
that is why today I have a male card to show you.

Instead of using my eBosser I have pulled out punches
in a determined  effort to start using all my craft stuff.
in fact that border punch is one of my favorites.
It is so easy to overlook what you have and still want more isn't it?.
The punched squares are a soft suede paper that I found when
having a good turn out.
Don't ask me where the rest of the paper is as I had such a good turn out
I have lost it again.  GR......
Really must get back to Christmas cards too or I will be panicking
come October.
Am entering this in:

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Rain

Rain something we have seen very little of for weeks.
Yes it did rain for a short while late this afternoon but the
concrete is dry now.
However if we are lucky we will get some of the wet stuff again tomorrow.
So say the weather man but we have heard that before.

On to better things my card for today.

I am now making birthday cards for the residents at the care facility
and here is one.
I was asked for some plain cards but find it really hard, keep
wanting to add more all the time.

Oh dear what can the matter be

My computer has been asking me for ages to update to
Windows 10.
So finally I did just that.
All my pictures are on Picasa and yes they are all still there
but now when I put in the memory card from my camera
windows 10 will not share them with Picasa.
They have filed them away and I am at a loss to find them.
Where are the grandchildren when I want them.
Hopefully  I will get this sorted soon.
Until then
Keep cool, warm or dry according to your climate.

It's cold outside.

No not at 29 degrees but you know what I mean.
They are talking about the drought being over with all the rain that has
fallen in NSW but it is certainly not over here in Tassie,
or in the West with the bushfires there.
Boy am I sick of dragging hoses around and
no matter how much water you put on the garden
everything is just soo dry even the weeds are dying.

I have been hard at it the last 10 days cleaning out my craft room.
Discovering things I had forgotten and rearranging things.
Have not finished yet as I hope to have my 2 youngest grandsons
here to manhandle furniture for me.
Then I will have to clean out the spare room where
everything has now been dumped.
I will post some pics once it is all operational.

Have found the time to make a couple of Christmas cards and
here is one.

I chose Lace Snowflakes and Sentiment

Thanks for dropping in.

A Happy New Year

Yes a very Happy New Year to everyone.
Hope you have all recovered from the New Year celebrations.
As for me I was tucked up in bed and even the fireworks did not disturb me.
Thankfully it has cooled down here in Tassie
and I have come alive again.
Once it gets past 25 degrees I am useless,
unless I am inside with the doors shut and the coolers on.
Onto my first card of the year.

Must say I am in love with my new Sue Wilson  die
and the Creative Expressions Embossing folder.
Teamed with pale Teal shimmer paper and silver trimmings.

I would like to enter this in:

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
