Something a little different

This is what 52CCT challenged us with this week and while I was deciding
which stamps to use I unearthed a whole box full that
had been hidden away in the cupboard.
I had completely forgotten the floral stamp and when I saw it again I knew just
what to put with it to make an Aussie Christmas card.
Didn't want to embellish it too much so left it plain just
some stickles around his hat and perfect pearls in the gum flower centres.
I also found my stamp positioner that I had put in a safe place
and not laid eyes on for months so it made stamping the greeting
so much easier

Am entering this in:
52CCT - Triple stamping.
Make it Monday - Anything goes Linky party.
Creative creations challenges - Keep it simple.
CHNC 2 - Anything goes.

Thanks for dropping by you are most welcome.

When the red red robin......

..........comes bob bob bobbing along.
Now I shall have that tune in my head for the rest of the day.

Hazel says it is a bit quiet on the CHNC challenge this week so I have made
another recycled card to help her along.
The top part of the robin looks a little grainy but I can assure you it is not in real life.
It must have something to do with the lamp I was using.
This is a beautiful picture of a robin and there was no way that I could throw it out
so I have recycled  it with maybe unusual colours for Christmas.
I gave it a white matt to represent snow and have gone around the edge of it with stickles.
Hope you like it Hazel.

CHNC - Recycle
CHNC 2 - Anything goes.

Oh drat.........

.......drat and double drat I put too many red rhinestones on this.
I just sort of got carried away.
The challenge at CHNC was to recycle.
Well the card I began to unpick fell to pieces in my hand and I was left with
the card blank and as luck would have it I found an envelope in my drawer
exactly the right size for it.
The Trees both came from another card as did the greeting
which I have put on the outside of the card.
The embossed panels are from my scraps pile the ribbon from my stash
so the only new thing is the patterned paper that came from
Papermania

Here is the inside  and voila another Chrissy card  in my box.

So far I have not fallen down on my new year resolution
to complete all the cards inside as I go but don't hold your breath it wont last.

Am entering this in:
CHNC - Recycle or something free.
CHNC 2 - Anything goes Christmas
52CCT - Pattern paper and glitter and complete the inside
{the tree is really glittery}.
Bearly mine - Anything goes.
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.

A big welcome to my newest followers nice to see you.
Thanks too for all the lovely comments you have all been leaving for me
they make my day.

Love is in the air

That is the challenge at Penny Black and more this month.
It has taken me a while to get to there but better late than never.

This is one of my older Penny Black stamps and
I just love the look on the face of the mouse and
the way his tail curls into a heart.
The rose he is carrying I have painted with Smooch Glitz.
The photo is not very clear I'm afraid as the paper I have used in
the background is embossed with tiny flowers.
I bought this many years ago and probably was unable to cut it up
because it is so sweet.
Found it the other day when I was going through my stash.
I sponged the edges with DI Spun Sugar.
Have put 2 rows of lace on the bottom panel back to back
with some grosgrain ribbon along the middle.
The little flower on the corner of the image is also cut from lace.
The flower I coloured with DI Spun Sugar and the leaves
have been dabbed with copic YG03 one of my favorites.
I have finished it off with some gems from Papermania.

Am entering this in:
Penny Black and more at alsorts - Love is in the air.
In the pink - Lusious lace.
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.

Thank you for dropping in you are most welcome.

My little frog

Pince Charming has made my watering can his home
You can see here just how tiny he is as that is only a 9 litre watering can
and every time I pick it up out he pops  from his home in the handle.
It looks as if I will have to buy another
can just to water the flowers with.

Purple Christmas

No these are not the colours that I usually use but at 52 Christmas Throwdown
They have set Purple, White and Silver for their challenge

Had difficulty taking a photo because of the sheen on the silver card.
and the white card looks a pale mauve.
Silver is not a colour that I would use very much.
While searching for silver card I found an A4 sheet of the purple backing paper
which has been hidden away for a long time.
Perhaps my stash is too large and I should explore it more frequently.
The baubles are by Docrafts Papermania and I only used part of the
folder for the front of the card  but used the full embossing folder
on the inside of the card.
I have used foam dots on the embossed image and the strip at the bottom of the card
to raise them although this is hard to see in the photo.

Am entering this into:
52 Christmas Throwdown - Colour challenge
CHNC - Rudolf is resting
CHNC 2-  Anything goes.
Challemges 4 everybody - Anything goes
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.

Prince Charming

Look who I found living in the handle of the watering can it is only approx 5cm long.
I found it there a couple of weeks ago and put it over the fence into our neighbours small pool but today when I was watering my pots outdoors he popped out of the hole where that water goes in and just sat on the handle as I was doing the watering.
Expect it didn't like the pool because of the birds around here.
We have 3 local Magpies plus Wattle birds and Butcher birds that come around.
We lost all of our Skinks at one stage to a butcher bird though they are coming back now.

Onto my card and did I have problems it just would not go right.

Used the sketch from Bearly mine and tried several images

before I found the right one.
that was my last piece of that shade of green card and a scrap of pink.
Needed the pink to tie in with the DP
and I have no idea where that came from.
Put liquid pearls in the centre of the flowers and really like it  but
mental note to make the centres bigger next time.
the flower by the pot has Diamond stickles in the centre
and the bees wings are also stickled.
Fiddled about with rhinestones but decided against it in the end.

Am entering this in:
Bearly mine  -  sketch.
Allsorts - Dies and punches.
Paper crafting journey - Anything goes.
Shelleys Images - Anything goes.
Inky chicks challenge - Anything goes

Up date on the heat wave

Yesterday Hobart experienced its hottest day on record 41.8.
My washing dried in around 10 minutes.

With the strong winds that went with it  there have been and still are bushfires
around the state.

Over 80 homes have been lost including nearly the whole of a small community.

The main fire is in the Port Arthur area where there is only one road in

which at this time is closed to traffic.
This is a tourist area with lots of shacks holiday homes and day tourists
Some have been ferried out by boat back to Hobart
others are camping on beaches and at Port Arthur they are without electricity
and food is being ferried into them by boat.

Thank goodness we are not in South Australia that had 47 yesterday.

And thank goodness it is cooler today.

Margaret M

P.S.  On Jan 3rd our daughter was concerned by a fire coming toward their property
so gathered what she would need if she had to leave in a hurry.
Youngest son 13 yrs packed his bag.
His coin collection, Christmas money and his Rubic cubes all 26 of them!
The wind changed direction luckily.

We're having a heatwave.......

Yes we have a total fire ban for the state,  forcast 29 today but it is 33 and rising
with a gale blowing and the wind is hot.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 39 our paved courtyard is a mess
but it wont be swept up in this heat maybe tonight.

Here I am introducing Dorothy.  She is a Cherish Bear put out by
Stampendous back in 1998 and was a very expensive stamp in those days.
I doubt she has seen ink for about 10 years hidden away in my Teddy Bear drawer.
So she is the old part of todays card.
The new is The Spellbinders decorative labels 1

I have used the lovely sketch from Die cutting Diva's

The background papers are from Bo Bunny and Pebbles

I am entering this in:

Ready Teddy Go - Something new.
Papertake weekly - Anything goes
Inky impressions - Anything goes
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.
