My 5 favorite cards for 2012

My pick of the cards I made in 2012

Just loved the colours in this one and I have more of that paper so you will see it again.

This was made for a 60th wedding anniversary and yes I made the roses and the
quilled the bells that were glittered inside.

Another requested card.  That black and limeade card go together so well.

Have really fallen in love with this LOTV image be prepared to see more of him.

Then my one and only easel card for the year.

Well that is it the year in brief wonder what 2013 holds.

A very happy New Year to everyone who passes by this way.

And a big thank you to all my followers and all who leave such welcome comments.

Very plain and simple

Hope everyone had a lovely family Christmas
and may 2013 be good to you all.
We are supposed to have rain for the next few days
but I will believe that when I see it.
So far we have missed out although they have had plenty in the north of the state.

The colours have not come out very true in this photo unfortunately.
I am blaming the photographer.

It is very plain but nothing I tried looked right so plain it will have to be.

I am entering this in:
In the pink #10 - Pink and pearlie
Make it Monday - Always anything goes.

Thanks for dropping in you are most welcome

My favorite 5......

......well perhaps but I kept changing my mind.

I just love this Tilda so I had to include her.

I made a lot of these and they prove to be a big hit
with everyone who received one
so I had to include it.

This one drew quite a lot of comment from my blogging friends so
he had to be included too.

I couldn't leave out my squirrel choir.
What is Christmas without a few carols?

This was made for a penfriend I have had for over 40 years.
Mauve being her favorite colour.

Well there you have it Debby my 5.
Try as I might I just cannot get your favorite 5 banner to come up on my post.
It is not the computer it must be me.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

These are a little different.......................

.......................from my usual cards I am trying to
take a step away and I am really pleased with how they look.
Must say I do like the die that I used.

We have had some beautiful weather but have to admit
when it reaches 25 I have had it.
Should be alright for Christmas day as the forecast is for 18.

May I thank everyone who has stopped by my blog and left me a comment
this year.  I have tried to return all of your visits
but do confess to getting side track quite easily when blog hopping.
May each and everyone of you have a very happy Christmas
and all the very best to you and your families for 2013.

Sorry about the photo in the frame.........

.......no it is not the best, but the only one I could find in a hurry that matched the colours.
My photo is not the best either too sunny here to get true colours,
the blue in the left hand corner is the nearest to real life.
The chipboard photo frame is from Kaszazz and goes together very easily.
The large flower and the flourish are both from Die-namics
The large butterfly is from Petaloo
The small ones have been painted with Smooch glitz.

A lovely change from Christmas cards.

Am entering it in:
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party
Challenges 4 everybody - Anything goes.

Thank for dropping in you are most welcome.

An easel card

It is ages since I  coloured up a Tilda and this card has been
waiting for so long to be finished.
In fact I didn't like what I had done to start with so popped it away
found it again recently and decided to start again.
It is ages too since I made an easel card as well.

Really went to town on this with dies and punches quite like the effect of the
quarter flower in the corner.
The DP is HOTP and Tilda is coloured all with E copics
though her arms look a bit pasty in the photo.
I have everything on this ribbon, twine, button, pearls
and the pebble in the big flower has writting in it.
Hard to see I know.

Am entering this in:
Dutch Magnolia lovers - Anything goes with a button
Make it Monday - Anything goes Linky party
Whoopsi daisy - Die cuts and punches
Stamptacular Sunday - Ribbon, twine, pearls, Die cuts and Punches.
Lovely Hanglar or sweet Tilda - Die or Punches
Challenges 4 everybody - Anything goes.

Thank you for dropping in you are most wecome.

Brown and cream

The small shopping centre across the road from us has its decorations
and Christmas tree up and they have started playing carol
so I am having to rush with my last few Christmas cards if I want them to arrive in time.

This dear little teddy has been sitting waiting for me to colour him in
and when I saw Cutie pie were asking for brown and cream
he jumped at the chance.

The DP was in my scap drawer and I found the scrap of grossgrain ribbon in my stash,
it was just long enough when I cut it into 4 to tuck under
To get the brown mount I drew around the outside of the die.
the snow flakes I cut out of glitter card, the larger ones look  bit like pinwheels
but I don't have a snowflake die or a Cricut
so have to make do with my punches.
I don't think the recipient  will mind.

Am entering this in:
Cutie pie - Brown and cream Christmas
Crafts and me - Non traditional Christmas
Make it monday - Anything goes Linky party

Thanks for dropping in you are most welcome.

Pastels

I just couldn't resist this challenge Pastels as I must be the original pastel person
and these dear little angels were just waiting in the wings to take it over.
I know the person who is going to get this as their Christmas card this year
and it's ok SIS I have already written in it.
Would you believe I forgot to write in the card that I sent her last year
lucky there was a letter in with it.

The DP I used was Bo Bunny and Pebbles that I bought on my trip up north,
as were the lovely
glass pebbles by Papermania
and that pretty ribbon.
The image and sentiment are both from LOTV.
I sponged the edges with Tumbled glass

Am entering this in:
Make it Monday -  Linky party.

Whoopsi daisy - Pastels
Totally Gorjuss - Pastel Christmas

Jingle Bell Rock

Well that is what I think they are singing anyway.
They are really throwing themselves into it are they not?

This is a much loved PB stamp from 1999.
Don't know where the DP came from small left over
but thought as it was green it would suit these field mice.
Have reverted back as usual to one of my favorite dies the mini scallop rectangle.
This one and the plain and mini scallop circle are the ones I use over and over
yet I have lots more, some unused, would you believe?
The snow on the log is Diamond glitter,
with a little bow and  a cute little bell to finish it off.

Am entering this in:
Penny Black and More - Any die will do.
Penny Black Saturday challenge - Cute Christmas.
Christmas stamping all year long - Anything goes.
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.

Glitter and glitz

I have been away up north to my favorite retail therapy shop.
The journey up and back down where done in brilliant sunshine
but it tipped it down all the time we were there.
30 mils of rain in about 12 hours.

I bought this lovely glittery paper in several shades
and the seam binding which I coloured with
DI Tumbled glass.
Have made a note to get some desposable gloves before I do that again.
What is the fun if you don't get dirty though!
Had to take the photo on a slight angle to avoid reflections
though his pompom looks rather pink and it isn't at all.

 Am entering this in:

Penny Black and more - Any die will do
52 Christmas throwdown - Sketch

Going around in Circles

These darling LOTV stamps were just begging to be put in circles and they
actually made the card themselves.
Had no idea what I was going to do when I started and then
the piece of Limeade card was exactly the right size and the scrap
of gold hologram card was just right too so it all fell into place.
I didn't get that middle circle set quite right though.
Well 2 out 3 isn't bad.
I am beginning to panic as I do every year that I will never be ready for Christmas.
Do have a stack of cards but will there be enough I doubt it

Am entering this in:

Plain and simple

Our lovely spring sunshine has gone today and it has been raining.
Ah well the garden needs it.

This came together so quickly it almost made itself and
I know it will go into an envelope, so easy to post overseas.
We have Hazel to thank for this as I have made it to go into her challenge
Black White and one other colour.
I didn't put any glitter on it as the person I have in mind to receive this
is not a glittery person.
Oh dear that doesn't sound right but you know what I mean.

This is the inside.
The stamps and the DP are all Papermania with a LOTV tag and some
white satin ribbon from my stash and a red Zig pen.
You would think by now I could do straight, but its hand made so what can you expect!

 Am entering this in:
CHNC - Black White and one other colour
One stop craft challenge- Anything goes.

Brown Pink and Cream......

.....not my favorite colour combo but it wouldn't be a challenge if it was.
however I think it has turned out OK.
Wasn't too happy about the colouring of the embossed flower border,
should have used my chalks to colour this not the tombows.

Absolutely adore this little LOTV bear it can be used for anything and
he is sooo cute bless him.
Don't look too closely at the colouring as one of the earth tones I used is
getting dry and I could not get it to blend in at all.
Have refills on order so hope it is not too long before they appear.
The greeting is hand written in the empty tag from the LOTV set.

Searched and searched for the pink spotty paper and it was sitting on my
desk all the time.
The bow is one my daughter gave me recently a left over
from her ballroom dancing days.
Teddies feet and nose have been given dimensional magic treatment.
With some glitter and a few butterflies to complete the picture.

Am entering this in:

Ready Teddy Go - Brown Pink and Cream.
Flutterby Wednesday - Wings.
Ruby's Rianbow - Cute and Cuddly.
Lady Anne's challenge - Anything goes.
Make it Monday - Anything goes Linky party.

Back to work

I have been absent for a while but I do have a good excuse you see I have had
my sister and niece staying and my niece was sleeping on a mattress on the floor of my craft room.
They came to help my husband and I celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary.
Yes you are not seeing things we have been married 60 years.
Our family organised a lovely party for us and we got our congratulations from the Queen
along with messages from our
local member of state parliament
Tasmanian Premier
Tasmanian Governor
Australian Prime minister and
The Governor General
It helps to have an aspiring politician in the family.
Must say we were a little overwhelmed by it all.

Well back to earth and a few more cards.
It's a while since I used a Tilda and this one was sitting waiting to be used.
The rhinestones in the small flowers are all the same colour though you wouldn't
know looking at this photo.
Wish I could remember what colours I used for her hair.

Haven't put much in the way of sparkle on this just some liquid pearl dots around her.

Am going to enter this in:
Christmas stamping all year round - Anything goes.
Christmas card challenge - Sketch.
Just keep on creating - Christmas
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party

A Cool Dude

Todays card has been made for members of the family who don't do CUTE.
I know he is such a cute little fellow but I haven't rosied his cheeks

or added any glitter or gloss just tried to make him COOL.
They are not really Christmas colour either are they?
but I really like it and will be making more like this.
Now that really is something as I hate making more than one version of the same card
Posted by Picasa

From this picture you can see how I have continued the theme inside the card
and how I have raised the layers on the front.
by the time I finished I had the dots and dashes going well so
should have done the inside first me thinks.

Am going to enter this in:

Christmas stamping all year round - Stitching faux or real
Make it Monday - Anything goes Linky party.
Fashionista Challenge - Christmas.

Flower power

I couldn't wait to ink up my new arrivals from LOTV
yes I know this is one of the 3 Christmas bears but he is so right
for the challenge this week.
The Nitwit papers are so beautiful too.
The flourish is a new one too by Die - namics
and the flowers are all with my retro punches.

He is just so cute don't you think?

Lilac and Lace

Have just received a parcel from LOTV but this lovely lady is one I bought
from them last year.
I am just dying to ink up my new ones they all look so cute.

It feels like snow here today after the lovely weather we had a couple of weeks ago.
So it was no problem to get into the groove and make a snowy card.
Although we did get the bill for the electricity today
and that was certainly a shock to the system.

I am entering this into:
Winter Wonderland - Lilac and Lace.
Christmas stamping all year round- Snowy.
Penny Black and More @  Allsorts - Early Chistmas makes

Anything but Square

Firstly I would like to say welcome to my newest followers.
Thank you for wanting to connect with my blog and hope you will enjoy what you see.

Couldn't resist these lovely stamps when I saw them as a freebe on a magazine.
Used up some odds and ends of card and designer paper to make this round side step card.
Think I was really longing for the weather to warm up when I made this hence
the dreaming of summer days greeting.
The circle I cut out with my Making Memories circle templates.
Of course the lovely wee stamp is coloured with my copics.
I really would love to try using DI but so far I have chickened out.

I am entering this in:
Charisma Cardz - Shaped cards

Whimsy inspiration - Anything goes
Just keep on creating - Anything goes
Make it Monday - Anything goes linky party.
