3 of a kind

Haven't had a lot of time for crafting as I am not too well at the moment.

However this week I needed a few quick Birthday cards and
I happened to take a look at Less is More and found this sketch.
This is a sketch I shall pull out when I want a quick card.

Here is what I came up with.

All very simple and made with snippets.
This last one I am going to enter into In the Pink who want Pink and Pearly

Quick post as I am not really up to blogging today.

Oh Christmas Tree

Well here we are over half way through January
and I am still in my winter woollies.
Hobart has had some wild and windy weather.
Last Tuesday we had nearly 4 inches of rain over night
and then it continued all day Wednesday.
Thursday wasn't too bad and Friday came the wind, and still it blows.
We have a wet patch on the ceiling in the lounge room
and the insurance man is coming in the morning.
It seems we have a broken tile which has been
fixed temporarily.
I expect we will have a wait to get it repaired now
as a lot of people are far worse off than us.

Onto todays card and I have been CAS-ing Christmas again.

The DP I used is by Maja Design, The red is paper not card but it as such
a good match.  The red stripe paper is the inside of an envelope recycled.
The Christmas tree was cut from paper by Anna Griffin.

thought about glamming it up with stickles or pearls but
then decided no it is pretty enough with its baubles and strings of bells.

Happy Snowman

This is such a cute happy snowman and I
couldn't resist him when I saw him on Beccy's place
and he was a freebe too.
Beccy is very generous giving away her lovely designs.
Her January challenge is to use one of her images
so here he is.

The DP was some that had been laying around you know how it does.
I think i thought it was too pretty to cut into.
The green card blank I found nearly a whole packet full of these,
so green is now the in colour.
I am really thrilled with the border from
SB Parisian Accents I cut 2 and stuck them together with
a jewelled sticker that came off another card.

Snowy was a precoloured version that I have added
Stickles and 3D medium to.
The added pearls are from Bo Bunny.

Hope you like him.

Mid month reminder

Time to remind you CHNC Christmas extra 2
is waiting for you to show us your Christmas makes.
It is good to see that some of you are
not going to be left rushing at the last minute getting
cards made.

I have no idea how old the DP that I used on this card is
or where it came from but thought it matched the scene I was trying to
portray.
I started by cutting out the largest size SB Labels 8
which I embossed then stamped while it was still in the die,
with Winter Wonderland by Stamp It.
The Santa and his sleigh are from
PB Transparency Best Day Ever
Then I embossed a piece of white card with the Swiss dots folder
and tore it to make the snow banks.
After sticking it down I trimmed it  to match the labels die.
Finished the whole off  with lots of Stickels and tiny silver stars.

Shades of blue

I had this card tucked away for {Ron} later on.
Sorry Ausie slang.
So what is a girl to do when crafting time is short.

This card is really very straight forward just matting and layering
The light blue card came from my bit box and there was just enough
to do the 2 panels.
The paper is from Wild Rose studio and the pups in the snow are so cute.
I have finished with a couple of Snowflakes cut from frosted card
but should have made the larger one the dark blue.
Snowy is coloured with copics.

His hat has been trimmed with Flower soft and glitter with liquid pearls for snow.

CASE - ing Christmas

Time to CASE Christmas again and here is the card
we have to CASE this week.

I have let the purple lead me and this is my take

I have used shim card for the card base and then used
Woven embossing folder by Couture Creations to give
depth.
I chose to use wide wired gold ribbon for the base of my banner
and had all sorts of trouble getting it to lay down.
The swirl is by Memory Box and called
Magic Flourish.
I have cut it in half and didn't then place it close enough
together to get it how I wanted it.
That's what comes of rushing.
Coloured the stamp with Tombow 636
and the little star is from an EK success Christmas tree punch.
I am trying to make my card less bulky this year
to keep the postage down.

Blue flowers

Our youngest daughter took her Dad out for a coffee this morning
giving me an hour to have a play in my craft room.
A rare treat to have the house to myself.
Unfortunately the weather was not kind to them so
they were not able to give him a walk in his wheelchair.
Just getting him out of the house though was a treat for him and me.

Oh shame the blue look so different in the photo.
It is funny how the camera brings out the different hues in the card and paper
The card base was linen card that I have had years.
Saving it for the occasion that never came.
The blue card was out of my bit box as was the scrap of white.
Only another 999 pieces to go!!!!

The tag came from a new Heartfelt Creations pad of 12 x 12 papers
as did the paper on the inside of the card.
Sneek peek below.

I have 3D-ed a couple of the flowers on the tag and cut out an extra one
to go over the twine bow.
The scallops were cut with SB Bracket borders 1 die

Poinsettia

At least we have got on top of the ants for the time being
but with the hot weather upon us they will be back.
I could get someone to spray under the house but just can't live with smells.
It is bad enough with the fly spray for sensitive noses.
They are really only a problem during the hotter months

The first challenge of the year at 52CCT
with a nice easy sketch to follow

Here is my take on it.

The paper is from Wild Rose Studio and the poinsettia die
from Memory Box
It has turned out very colourful and surprisingly I quite like it.

CASE-ing Mynn's card

We had a very hot day {well for us 34 degrees} on Saturday
and we had an ANT invasion.
We have Argentine ants no bigger than a pin head
but with razor sharp teeth or so it seems.
Squash them and they get up and run away,
try to drown them and they swim  but not if you use HOT water!!!!!.
Took ages to get them out of the house and back in the garden.
I have gone through about 3 tins of spray.

Anyway on to business.
A new year and Mynn has come up with a new challenge for us all.
CASE -ing Christmas.
Here is the card she would like you to CAS

I followed the sketch and the gold.

This card was made completely with stash that is years old
and there is lots more where that came from.
I didn't have a bird but at least I have the tree.

Welcome in 2015

Welcoming in 2015 with very
Happy New Year wishes to everyone.

It is very exciting  for me to be starting the New Year
on the Design Team for Hazel's
A monthly challenge where all you have to do
is enter your Christmas cards the more the merrier.
Any style,as it is always  Anything Goes.
We have a wonderful sponsor in Bugaboo Digis
and they also provide the images for the DT to work with.
Now I love my stamps and have never worked much with Digis
so this is also a new experience for me.
I have much to learn about sizing them etc.

Here is my card.

I have used Christmas cupcake mistletoe  and  I thought as
cupcakes are the in thing I would give my card
a more modern look.
Hence the non traditional colours.
The lacy effect around the image I made with the smallest
die from SB Decorative Labels 8 of which I cut 2
then cut them both in half and arranged them around the sides of the
rectangle.
The Holly is a Cheery Lyn  die that I really love the berries are rhinestones.

I coloured with Copics added 3D medium to the leaves
and mistletoe berries.

It is never too early to start on your Christmas cards so we
would love to see your cards on the challenge.
You could be the lucky winner of some Bugaboo images.
