We are all stitched up again

Having just made one stitched card I was not expecting to follow it with another
but here you are as 52 CCCT want stitching this week

I have been sorting out in my craft room, as you do, alas you wouldn't know
it isn't even one tad tidier.
However I found 2 thin strips of this delightful Kaiser paper
that I have used both sides of.
The stars are a beautiful aqua with the palest of pinks.
Must be 3 years old now, the stars in the corner would be even older
and they are really glittery but it does not show up unfortunately.
Hedgie is from a transparent set that I bought at the craft show so expect to see more.
Another Christmas card in unseasonable colour.
I do love that die.

All stitched up.

I have followed the sketch on Try stamping on Tuesday
or at least I have taken my own slant on it.

I am a collector of unused envelopes and wanted to make a card to fit a particular one
that is why it is this shape and colour.
So I stepped away from the usual Christmas colours of red and green
and hunted out my Hero Arts snowman.

The corner is a Sizzix die.  I have faux stitched all around with tombow 991
and sponged with Dessert Sand.
Finished it off with 3 shiny snowflakes and 3 tiny jewels and
have mounted all with 1mm foam so that it is envelope friendly.

Follow the recipe

Winter is back with us today after a couple of lovely mild days that
had us believing spring was about to arrive.
Today is bleak with heavy showers but we do badly need the rain here in
this end of the state.

So much for the weather report.

Today I am following the recipe on 52CCCT
of 1 ribbon 2 papers and 3 pearls or rhinestones.
I have pulled out another old PSX stamp which I felt went with the paper,
but now I am thinking that I should not have stamped with black.
To start I coloured in the lamp but didn't like that and as the stamp is so detailed
felt it was better left uncoloured.
I sponged around the outside with Dessert Sand and right on the edge
with Shabby Shutters 2 beautiful colours.
The ribbon has bells and holly in gold very tiny.
The mount had to be hand cut and I can see I fudged that too.  GRRRRR

Pretty in pink.

I found this sketch on the CAE Colours and sketches site and
just had to try it out as I need quite a lot of simple
Birthday cards
Once again I have used some scraps of card but my pile of scraps does not
reduce very much.
Did just add the butterfly the die was a freebee and it really is quite lovely.

So Simple

It is ages since I have made a card like this and it was really so simple.
In fact this is a card that I have had made for some time now and had forgotten to post.
Not a scrap of DP in sight just some glitter and gloss for a bit of sparkle
and mostly made from left over scraps of card too.

Green, Red, Brown.......

and Vanilla this is the challenge from 52CCCT.
This was so hard being such a pastel person myself.
I much admire people who can work with harder brighter colours.
The green, red and vanilla were OK but that brown.

I tell you there was much gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair going on
but here is the end result which I have to admit I don't mind at all which was a surprise.

Being as the paper is patterned and I also embossed the snowflakes
I kept the rest of the card very simple with just a LOTV greeting.

Look what we woke to this morning

Yes Snow on the mountain.

I took this through the kitchen window the sun was shining but it was very cold.
At least the days are beginning to lengthen though.

Well onto my card. I have followed the sketch on 52CCCT which was a very simple one
but very effective.

I have embossed the background with a baubles die but the camera does not pick it up very well.
and then doodled around the edge with a red pen.
As you can see though I am not a very good doodler.
Tried one or two images but Snowy was best and have covered
the fur with flower soft which I mixed with glitter.
did I have trouble with this as my glue had gone gluggy and would not spread
then the container had gone hard and cracked so there was glue everywhere.
just finished it off with the rhinestones.

House of Cards

Their first ever challenge here is Cute and Fun,
and if I don't get a wriggle on I shall be too late to be included.

This as easy for me although it took sometime to decide just which of my
cute little critters to choose.
A lot got stamped some not to my satisfaction until
I found this one just sitting in a drawer waiting to be coloured in.
I saw the colour palette as turquoise which is what I used
although it has come up as blue in the photo.
Sorry that the little butterfly does not show up too well,
that too is better in real life.
Put it down to the dismal day here snow right down the mountain and we
have not gotten into double figures here today.
ROLL on SPRING

Sparkling

It is a dark dismal winters day here typical of July
I just want to hibernate.
At least I have my Internet back so can post a new card for you today.
This is for 52CCCT who gave us a sketch challenge.
We were spoilt for choice which made it harder.
I went for Sketch 1.

The background paper is from Art Stamps Australia and is very sparkly,
as it is also very busy I wanted to keep my image rather plain.
It is ages since I coloured up a Tilda and this one is so sweet.
Went around the edges with Shabby shutters and then with glitter.

Well you can never have too much can you?
