Holly Sqare

After some  lovely sunny days when we dared to hope all the nasty cold weather
was going away winter is with us again.
Snow on the mountain and a bitter cold wind blowing off it.
Still the daffs are coming out and the early wattle is well into bloom
and even the birds are getting vocal so spring is well and truly on its way.

I found a whole stash of these Holly Squares that I stamped and embossed
many moons ago.  They would have been coloured with Tombows and 3D.
The seasons greetings I stamped down the front with
Fabrico that needs reinking so I wrote over it with crystal stickles
With glittery holly DP and more glitter on the die cut square
I just had to finish it off with the glittery gold ribbon.

Gatefold cut out

I have tried something a little different today by making a gatefold cutout card.
There is an excellent tutorial for this over at Norma's Blog.
Sorry about the paper clip in the first picture but I wanted you to get the effect
with the card closed. Should have had another at the top as well
but you get the idea.

Now with the card open.
I think it probably needs to be a wider card but I found I had a
pile of 3 fold cards in my stash which were easy to adapt.
Hazel is asking for monochrome cards this week
so I am happy to oblige.
Tilda has come in for the usual amount of sparkle and glitz
but I am in great need of some refill ink for my  B copics
so her dress looks a little streaky I'm afraid.

One more to add to my collection

This looks like turning into a Christmas card blog
but I intend to be ready for Christmas this year.
Have even bought my first Chrissy present.
Hope I remember where I put it........

Love this sketch from Christmas Challenges
Did wonder though having coloured Tilda in yellow whether
it would look OK but I quite like it.
She has lots of diamond stickles and liquid pearls around
to make her feel special.
Sorry about the shadow but I took this after dark.

Using the same sketch

Yes I am using the same sketch as my last post here in a different way.
I wanted to use my Hero Arts snowman.
Forgot to put the red pearls in the corners before I took the photo
so you will just have to imagine them.
The actual card is a very dark green but I took the photo of it in front of the TV
this morning and it is hard to see.
OK I will take my 50 lines now,
"I must do better in future"

I will be ready for Christmas

I know that I have been absent but I ran out of internet this month and
it was soooooo lonely having to wait to get back.
Tried to sweet talk Telstra into giving me extra GB but they
wanted more than I could afford so I will just have to
cut down on my blog hopping.  BOO HOO.
Yes I am determined to be ready for Christmas this year
at least with my cards.
Today I am following the sketch from 52 Christmas throwdown.
and I love it so good for using up left overs.
I shall be making more of these as they will be so easy to post
come the festive season which is what I need.
The sprig of Holly is part of a stamp that I have had for years.
I stamped and embossed, coloured and covered with Dimensional Magic
then cut it out and then 3D it.
Just the glitter around the sections I feel has set it off.
