Blue Skies

The last 2 weeks have been spring like with clear blue
skies and above average temps.
One could be fooled into thinking it is October not August.
Hope we wont regret it later.

This is the Gum tree over our back fence.
Check out that sky.

That bundle of sticks on the left of the picture is the Magpies nest.
She has become very protective of her nest but she is not sitting yet.

The last couple of weeks has been so frustrating as I have been
out of internet time and not only was it painfully slow it kept dropping out
so I had to give in and negotiate a new bundle with Telstra.
Have been hanging out for NBN to be turned on
as the cable has been a few yards from the front door since Jan 2013.
Although I got my extra GB's of internet they didn't speed it up
until I rang and complained.

Haven't had a lot of time for crafting either but did manage this card.

Using up some of my lovely mirror card and sparkly gold ribbon
Sponged with  Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink.

And here is a look at the inside.
The stamp and greeting are both Penny Black's.

Hope I will just squeeze in before the cut off time at:

Clear blue skies

Another glorious day in Paradise.

This is our view of the mountain from the back door.
Still a smattering of snow at the top but a clear blue sky and warm enough to sit
and have morning tea in the sun.  That is my Vit D for the day.
There is a place here in Tassie called Paradise.

Now onto my card and for a change I have coloured up a Tilda.
Not sure but I think she is Bridesmaid Tilda

Have used some shimmer papers out of my stash and the ribbon
I bought at the craft show matches so perfectly.
You can tell it's a while since I have done any colouring in with my Copics.

Sponged around the die with Memento Dessert Sand another excellent match.

Spring is on it's way

Yes this is a sure sign that spring can't be far away,
even if winter is dumping all it's left over frost, snow,
rain and cold winds on us at the moment.
The Hyacinths in the garden are hopeless these in the pot spent
2 months in a paper bag in the fridge before they were planted.
So now I know I have to dig them up each year and give them
the cold treatment.

Onto my card.
I was a little worried about mixing Gold, Silver, White and Cream together
which is the challenge over at 52 CCT this week.
However it seems to have worked.
The card base is a very pale cream although it looks white in the photo.

The lovely cream embossed paper I found when looking for my gold and silver
foil card so that is some more of my stash used up.
The sentiment has been embossed with silver prisma powder
and I have sponged around the die with
Galexy Gold Brilliance.
I have used Spellbinders Labels 1 and Decorative labels 1.

CAS or Classic

This week is going so quickly and I have not achieved a thing.
I am going to miss all my usual challenges.
However I did get this done using House of Cards sketch.

Nice and simple.

The quality of this first photo is not good but it was getting dark
when I took it without my lamp on.
I wasn't really happy with it
so decided to add some flowers.

Photo one would I think be CAS but with the flowers more Classic.
What do you think?
The greeting has been embossed with some very old PSX powder
that I really thought must be past its best
But it has taken beautifully.
I have used
Spellbinders - Labels 8, Gold Labels 8, Sprigs for the leaves
The rose card is some I have had for ever
and the ribbon I bought at the craft show here in Hobart at the end of July.
Unfortunately there was little of interest to lovers of paper craft
at the show and I am told the paper craft show in Melbourne
was sorely lacking too.
Still Tasmanians do have the best paper craft shop in Australia
up in Devonport  I just can't get there very often.
