Mauve and Green should never be seen.....

together!.

Well back in the dark ages when I was at school we had a PE teacher
who was always quoting that.
Funny how little things like that stick in ones memory.
However disregarding all her advice this is what
I have done.

I don't think this little chap has been out of my Penny Black stamp drawers before.
He certainly didn't look as if he had ever been inked.
I wanted to use a circle and didn't have one big enough
so I 3D him and am quite happy with the result
except that I forgot to sponge him some sky.
Too late now that I have added the pearls.
The marbled DP is very old HOTP
and I have never used that lace before either.
Also used the sketch from The Sweetest Thing.

Very distressed

Oh this is not my usual style but you have to give me something for trying.
The photos are not the best as I took them
in the evening when the light was going
and didn't use the lamp.
I got very distressed  making the flowers
and they have been distressed with everything I could lay my hands on.
Glimmer mist, Stickles, Distress inks, Rubons.
I didn;t mind misting them with water but
crumpling them up was hard to do.
I did put some rubon on the lace to soften the harsh white but it
still looks too white to me.
So now it is over to you what do you think?

Here is a peek inside

This may be my last post for a while as we are having the bathroom renovated
and have to get out of the house for a couple of weeks
so this will mean no crafting for me.
While this is happening I will be leaving my Husband in the care
of my youngest daughter for a couple of days
and visiting my favorite craft shop in Tassie it has been too long between visits.

Thanks for dropping in don't forget to say hello.

This is for the man of the house

This card was for one of the men in my life and with 5
grandsons there are a few of them.

This is the first card that I made after  I bought my eBosser.
Of course the first thing I had to do was try
out the embossing folders that came with it.
The background was one and the other is clock faces and
I cut out one of these with a plain circle die and mounted it on
two tags from the Parisian Accents Spellbinder die.
I also cut out the square die from this set twice and linked them
together on the inside of the card but didn't take a photo of that.  Silly me.
It is finished with black grosgrain ribbon and pearls.
They look very crooked but it is the effect of the embossing underneath.

Don't work too hard.
