Another Special birthday card

I have replaced my Big Shot with the Embosser and I am
still very new at learning about what it can do.
However I am very reluctant to throw out the Big Shot
as there is nothing wrong with it except it needs new cogs.
I just need to find a handy man there must be one out there somewhere.

This is another card for a special birthday.
I have used one of my lacey dies which cut out on the first run through the Embosser.
So am I chuffed ?   You bet.
This card has been inspired by Christina and you can see more of her work HERE

The dies I have used were Detailed Scallops and Lacey circles.
Each layer is raised but you can't really see that from the photo.
The leaves were Spellbinders Sprigs die.
The sentiment is one of LOTV which I have embossed with a
sparkling embossing powder and the gems from Papermania.
Don't know where the flowers came from.

Birthday card

Just a quick post today with a card for a 40th birthday.
The papers are from Meg's secret garden and are really pretty
the photo does not do them justice.
The butterfly has been coloured with DI.
A bit hot here aiming for 36 today.
I don't like it over 25 so not my kind of weather.

WOW ......Right out of my comfort zone

Yes you wont find anything else like this on my blog.
It has taken me 3 days to make as we are going through a heat wave
and I am hopeless when it gets above 25 degrees.
Then of course the tennis is on and that is such a time waster.
how they are playing in 40 degrees beats me.

I am afraid of strong colours so it was with a lot of trepidation
that I started with this card.

Funnily I am now quite happy with how it looks.
The colours came from 52 CCCT who wanted us to use 3.

I have added touches of more colour which I think has added a balance.
What do you think?
The stamp is brand new and I have been waiting a long time for it.
Of course it arrived too late for 2013 but just in time for a new beginning in 2014.

I reverted to one of my EK punches for the border.
It is a lace one that I cut through the middle and just popped the scallop
border out from the edge of the card.
I added the ribbon and then realized I had hidden it behind my image so
added a bow for good measure.
There is lots of glitter and liquid pearls for snow.

Challenges:

CHNC - Christmas weather
CHNC Extra - Anything goes
Penny Black Saturday Challenge- New Beginnings

Blue and white

I am following the sketch at The House of Cards today

And of course I have to make the Cute/Fun one
If I have time I will maybe have a try at the Shabby/ Vintage
but that is not really my scene.

It looks as if I am going to have to get myself a new blue stamp pad
that one is nearly dry.
Wouldn't like to tell you how old that pad is and it has done some really hard labour
not worth getting a new re-inker for it.
I have also chosen to make it in the colours of winter.
White for the snow and blue for the cold.
I think a lot of you in the USA are feeling both,
and all you poor things in the UK with all that rain.
Was that really part of the cliff in Hastings that fell down?

Green on white

Love the new look blog over at 52 CCCT go have a look
and join in making a start on those Christmas cards.

Today we have a sketch to follow.
Here is my take on it.

As I am still without a Big Shot I went hunting for
any bits I had cut out or embossed and found these.
The wide ribbon is a tiny scrap too.
I have been tidying my craft room even though it does look as if a bomb has landed
and found all manner of bits and pieces.

This is for:

Sketch for 52CCCT

My first Christmas card for 2014 now I have a second look at the
sketch over at 52CCCT I see it says sentiment where I have put
a picture so back to the drawing board.
I love the new look blog ladies, pop over and check it out.

However this card will be just fine for
where Hazel wants us to
recycle reuse or a freebe.

This is  a picture that I have reused from a 2012
card I received as last years cards are still up and being enjoyed.
I hate taking them down.

My 5 favorite cards for 2013

A very Happy New Year to everyone.

I am joining in with Debby
in picking my 5 favorite cards for 2013
So surprised to see that I mainly made Christmas cards
so it made choosing 5 relatively easy and I favored Teddies and Hedghogs.
Mean to have more to choose from this year.

No doubt about it I go for the cute and cuddlies don't I?
